FHN’s Center of Innovative Learning (COIL) is devoted to the growth and development of our team members and community. Our diverse education program strives to improve performance for FHN, our community, and team members. We offer more than 2,800 courses for staff including CEUs. FHN’s learning culture has been in place for decades through our corporate university model.

Scholarships and Education Assistance — We offer several scholarship programs in partnership with the FHN Foundation and Workforce Connection. Generous FHN Foundation donors have provided financial support for many students pursing healthcare careers. We also have a generous education assistance program that offers tuition assistance on the front end of the program.

Partnerships — COIL has more than 30 higher learning education partnerships, with online and in-person learning available as students fulfill clinical rotations at FHN. We’re proud to offer tuition discounts, and are always working to add new options to meet our team members’ needs.
On-the Job Experiences — FHN offers internship, externship, and job shadow opportunities for individuals to explore multiple careers paths, both clinical and non-clinical. Paid apprenticeships are available for on-the-job training accompanied by an in-person or online training program.
Leadership Development — FHN proudly offers leadership development programs through multiple partners and using on-site experts. We are proud to have been recognized as a BOLD Program of Distinction awardee by the National Center for Healthcare Leadership (NCHL).
Community Education — FHN offers opportunities to enhance your skills and get involved in the community by teaching courses such as Safe Sitter® Essentials and Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED.
