FHN has opened online self-scheduling for a limited number of Moderna COVID-19 booster shot clinics.
At this time, persons over age 65 and those aged 16 - 64 with medical conditions that increase the risk of severe COVID-19 along with healthcare workers, first responders, employees and residents at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission are eligible for boosters.
Only persons who have been fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine are eligible for this booster vaccination. It is recommended that the booster be administered at least 6 months after receiving the second Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the single Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Registration is required for these clinics, which will be held from 8 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8; Tuesday, Nov. 9; Friday, Nov. 12; Monday, Nov. 15; Tuesday, Nov. 16; Friday, Nov. 19; Monday, Nov. 29; and Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 1763 S. Dirck Drive in Freeport.
Appointments for these vaccination clinics are available at www.fhn.org/booster-registration_ModernaPfizer.asp. Recipients must bring their COVID-19 immunization card with them to their appointment and plan to stay for 15 minutes after receiving the vaccination (30 minutes for persons who have had immediate reactions to vaccinations such as flu shots, or regularly need to carry an EpiPen). There is no cost for a COVID-19 booster shot.
