Please note, there will be NO direct or face-to-face interaction with participants. We are proactively outlining procedures for social distancing as well as for keeping staff and the public safe. Volunteers will prepare baskets and deliver directly to participant vehicle trunks.
Good health is more than taking the pills your provider prescribes. In fact, if he or she could, the very first prescription your provider would write for you would be for a nutritious diet!
As part of the community's Connect the D.O.T.S. (Doors of Team Support) initiative to promote well-being for everyone in our community, FHN and the Northern Illinois Food Bank are partnering to make sure everyone in our community has access to plenty of good, nutritious food.
The free Rx Mobile Pantry Program distributes healthy produce, milk, eggs, and frozen and canned meats to participants who may be experiencing food insecurity. If you qualify, all you need to do is “check up” on your health with a free blood pressure screening and answer a few questions!
Each screening is performed by a registered nurse who can explain the results and answer general health questions. Health information also is available at each screening.
If you'd like to qualify for the Rx Mobile program at any of our free blood pressure screenings, we'll ask a few questions about your food supply - we want to make sure that Rx Mobile goods go to the people who need it most.
