Join FHN for Bike Ride, Run to Benefit Healthy Causes – and Your Health!

We are proud to present two opportunities for some healthy competition this summer – the Gran Fonda Tour Against Cancer and the FHN Healthy Heart Hustle 5K!

Gran Fonda Tour Against Cancer

The Gran Fonda Tour Against Cancer is a Freeport tradition, founded by and named after Dave Fonda, who loved cycling and his community. He started the Tour in 2007, dedicated to parlaying his passion into a cause that could help those fighting cancer. Although Dave lost his own battle in 2018, he’ll forever be a part of the event named in his honor.

The Gran Fonda offers a variety of challenges, from a Family Fun Ride along the Jane Addams Trail to 30- (trail or road), 50-, and 75-mile options on some of the most beautiful roads in northwest Illinois.

The Tour begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 30 at Tutty's Crossing Trailhead, 250 E. Stephenson Street in Freeport. A route guide and safety card is provided and roads are marked. There will be one staffed rest stop in Orangeville.

In lieu of a registration fee, we welcome your gracious donation to the FHN Leonard C. Ferguson Cancer Center at FHN Memorial Hospital.

For more information on the Gran Fonda, contact Tonya at 815-599-6900 or visit www.fhn.org/TourAgainstCancer.
