The public is invited to bring unused prescription drugs to the Freeport Police Department for safe drive-thru service. (The site cannot accept liquids or needles/sharps, only pills or patches.) The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. The FHN Family Counseling Center and Freeport Police Department are working with the State of Illinois and local and national law enforcement to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs and educate the public about the potential for abuse of medications.
