A Peer Support Specialist works with individuals to assist them in accomplishing their goals and navigate social situations.
Being diagnosed with a mental illness and becoming a Peer Support Specialist has allowed me to turn what I've been through into something positive, powerful and useful. I have lived through the recovery experience, and I am now showing my peers how to gain hope and move forward in their own recovery. I enjoy making a difference in the lives of others. I have a passion for treating individuals with respect and dignity along with empowering them to advocate for themselves. My passion is to provide the support that individuals need to have a better life and a promising future.
