Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology

Call us: 815-599-6930

An allergy is your body's immune system reacting to something that doesn’t bother most other people. Common allergies include adverse reactions to:

  • Pollen
  • Dust mites
  • Mold spores
  • Pet dander
  • Certain types of food
  • Insect stings
  • Certain medicines
Allergies can cause anything from minor symptoms like a runny nose and watery eyes to serious, severe reactions that can be life-threatening emergencies.

Skin and blood tests help your provider diagnose allergies. Treatments offered at FHN include medicines, injections and sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT), giving a patient small doses of an allergen under the tongue to boost tolerance and reduce symptoms.
