Two Ways to Help Through Operation Give Back
8/3/2011, 9 a.m. 3:30 p.m.
The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program at FHN Family Counseling Center Stephenson County in Freeport will hold its second annual Operation Give Back Charity Event August 3 and 4. The event, held in the facility's back parking lot, is a rummage sale of donated goods to benefit the program and the local Red Cross.
“We are taking donations of items that are no longer useful to you, but that someone else might find useful,” said event organizer Ashley Hartje. “That includes clothing for newborns through adults, toys, household goods anything that you'd find at a garage sale. Through August 1, we'll be accepting gently used items at drop-off zones inside FHN locations throughout Freeport.”
You can drop off items for the sale in Freeport at FHN Family Counseling Center Stephenson County, 421 W. Exchange Street; FHN Memorial Hospital, 1045 W. Stephenson Street; FHN Family Healthcare Center Burchard Hills, 1010 W. Fairway Drive; FHN Family Healthcare Center Highlandview Drive, 3001 Highlandview Drive; and FHN Specialty Care Harlem Avenue, 25 N. Harlem Avenue.
The Operation Give Back sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 3 and Thursday, August 4 at the FHN Family Counseling Center Freeport. Local businesses including Cub Foods, Save-a-Lot, Pizza Hut, Jimmy John's, Applebee's and more will be donating gift baskets for sale at the event.
Half of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the local Red Cross chapter; the remaining funds will benefit the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program. For more information about the Operation Give Back event, call Ashley Hartje at 815-599-7300.
