Committed to Economic Health
As one of the largest employers in the Freeport area, FHN employs and offers benefits to approximately 1,400 employees, providing economic viability to the community and stability for families. As a sponsor of more than 60 community events, we contribute thousands of dollars in cash and in-kind donations annually. Each year, our employees add their personal contributions (averaging more than $40,000 to the United Way), as well as serving in leadership positions in many community organizations and boards.
Committed to Community Health
- Administered over 7,500 screens at no charge.
- Poison Prevention: 64 events attended by 7,475 individuals.
- Speakers Bureau: 18 seminars lead by FHN providers, attended by 1,408.
- Health Resource Library: Used over 900 times by community members seeking health-related information.
- 163 health education programs presented to 3,268 students on various health-related topics.
- Mini-Medics: 324 elementary students from 9 schools learn about healthcare.
- Sports Medicine: Athletic trainers served 5,520 hours at over 1,674 events at 11 schools. Seventy-eight athletes took advantage of Saturday morning clinics.
- FHN Community Healthcare Center had over 2,800 visits. There were 299 new patients who received much needed care at the clinic.
- Sports physicals: FHN providers performed 1,234 physicals during 21 summer sports physical clinics across northwest Illinois. The cost of these $20 physicals was donated back to area schools for a total of $24,520 donated to 14 area schools.
Our Employees Are Committed as Well
FHN employees have contributed over one million dollars to the FHN Foundation since 1999 through the award-winning Partners in Giving Program. Partners in Giving is an FHN employee fund-raising organization that creates opportunities for employees to contribute to FHN in various ways—through payroll deductions, donations, or through participation in fund-raisers.
This program has been an outstanding success for our employees to collaborate with our community to raise funds for healthcare services.
